No one else is going to get us out of this morass. The politicians, bankers, eurocrats and civil servants got us into this mess so they’re not going to be able to get us out of it.

No. As always it’s down to us to do it for ourselves. We’ll need to pay off £33,000 per head, so as a country we’ve got to earn it.

Britain Plc needs again to carve our place in the world. We need:

-         the fittest and best educated people

-         the finest talent

-         the most enthusiastic entrepreneurs

-         the best bankers

-         the houses of parliament full of independent people

We also need:

-         the best telecoms services

-         constant electrical power

-         the best aviation services

-         the best public transport

-         the best computer services

-         the best military and police forces

We need to become self-sufficient in food.

We need to reduce the level of oil and gas we buy and burn

We need everyone to be self-responsible and self-reliant; we need less central direction and control; we need less in-fighting to get a larger share of our pie; we need more people helping Britain PLC to make a profit in the world, to make a bigger pie for us all.

We also need some fun – so can I suggest ‘Longbow Clubs’, these are clubs where people meet to practise using the longbow, to have longbow competitions.

These clubs, their members and their sponsors will be officially allowed as their logo, the well-renowned and popular “V” sign. The symbol that no one has cut off the two fingers they need to operate the longbow and that they are still perfectly capable of protecting their country and their families.
