Carbon Reduction - 2. Corporate

There are two primary areas for consideration:

- use of energy in the adminstration and office type actvities
- Use of energy in the business process itself

Administration and Office type activities:

- Can we reduce the need for people to travel to the office building every day or can they work from home or from a local business centre for example as this would save travel fuel and save on heating etc or even save an office building
- Can we reduce the need for multiple copies of documents as this requires copiers and filing cabinets
- Can we find ways to utilise the building(s) for more hours in the day
- Can we re-organise the office activities so as to be more efficient as this will need less energy

Business process itself:

- Do we use the latest equipment as these tend to be the most energy efficient, at what point does it become more cost-effective to invest in more modern equipment
- Complete a methods study review for each of our 'A' products, the twenty percent of products accounting for porbably eighty pecent of our sales
- Re-examine each of elements in the business processes including design, sales and marketing etc for the point of view of energy consumption
