28th November. Finishing the last tidying for last year and already starting on next year, as including the genuine winter crops, it's a continuous process. Spinach have started sprouting.   more »

27th October 2008. we've had a huge and continuous cropping season - thirty squashes, two sacks of potatoes, dozens of courgettes, some sweet corn, huge beetroot and swedes, loads of beans, and broad beans, Brassicas were rubbish, leeks coming well, three sacks of onions.   more »

Addendum, 171108. I went and bought some red beans at the supermarket in Cyprus. Well when I bought some two years ago I received very few and when they grew I wasn't able to save seed for the next year. Now with 320 seeds, let's see if I plant them 9 inches apart, they'll take up 48ft by 4ft, that's huge, I'll just try one 12ft bed.    more »
