20th Sept. That's now been eclipsed by the first 'Canasta' lettuce, beautiful to look at green with red flecks, crisp, served with extra fine rapeseed oil and rice vinegar drizzled over it. Delicious.
18th September. The beauty this week is Tendergreen dwarf french beans picked very young, lightly boiled and served with butter, with the Charlotte potatoes harvested yesterday and with poached salmon, plus a glass of rose. Heaven.
4th September. Ratatouille with nine ingredients:Tomatillos, yellow peppers, red and yellow tomatoes, garlic, chillies, courgettes, red onions and yellow beans served with new potatoes. Plus chicken. Brilliant.
