Nov 5th Current situation:- thyme covering the pergola area, all around and under the bench/table, so you crush some every time you cross the area, this releases the aroma of thyme - heavenly
- Super Aquadulce broad beans planted today, not attempting successions as the packet says plant 'early November'
- all peppers, chillies and aubergines are in the greenhouse for overwintering
- greenhouse now has an inner tent of bubble-wrap
- two beds of onions and garlics planted and showing green shoots
- bed prepared for the peas and sweet peas
- permission to have another greenhouse granted, we will need to move cardoons and clear the winter radish / Giant Guatemalan Groundcherry bed
- courgettes still fruiting
- parsnips, celeriacs, Jerusalem Artichokes, purple sprouting broccoli, and a few leeks, all waiting to be brought to the table
- wallflowers ready for next year
- new bean trench partially dug
- new potatoes possibly ready for Christmas
- strawberries well established in new bed, all flowering; marigolds also thriving
- four beds for next year's potatoes all lying fallow covered with compost manure and with permeable membrane
- beetroot in various stages of development scattered on several beds
- some ols shallots have suddenly started making new growth so will try to leave them in place
- sage, purple sage and rosemary all bombing along nicely
- all the tiny bay trees have got bigger this year, but still small
- nasturtiums and marigolds still blooming good

Still to do: move the summer fruiting raspberries; clear the runner beans and move the blackberry; finish the new bean row; plant the 'pot' peppers and chillies in the greenhouse; refresh the pergola bed; do the new greenhouse;

Salad crops in the greenhouse:Salad Radishes doing well, spring onions OK, lettuce no signs yet. Need to sow somw more of each. Really need to get the next greenhouse going! and quick too!!
