I recently watched my DVD of the Three Tenors, Pavarotti, Carreras, Domingo in their famous charity event in Rome. Last week I watched the film "Mamma Mia." Two weeks ago by accident I found that one of the music players on my computer emits the sound via my headphones rather than the speaker system. We need a national theme which will automatically bring all the people who disagree with how politics as currently organised, that is the 65% who don't bother to vote. (If, as an MP, you want your job and your pension then you have to vote how the party tells you to.)

With the potential implosion of the labour party, we don't want an overbearing 'we can do anything' conservative party. I mean they could end up with a vast majority, which might be as bad as the current situation.

8th July 2008. We need fifty to sixty (or as many as we can) Independent MPs to be able to hold the balance of power in the Houses of Parliament. The difficulty for an independent is the need to develop all his own policies, to formulate his manifesto and then to communicate it to his constituents. I have started building mine up and in due course will make them available to other people for them to agree or amend them to fit themselves. The key principle is that for the Independents Non-Party that by definition there can't be any party whips as there's No-Party

3rd May 2008. Standing as an Independent

I am confident of the intelligence of individuals.

We need MPs to be able to vote individually on each issue rather than having to club together as a battering ram. We do not want a rigid party system, ruled by the Whips, where MPs are bribed by their positions and their entitlement to expenses and pensions.

We need each voter to vote for the independent person with policies and character they trust.

My own policies (updated 030808):

-         support the family as a great institution because the family provides the glue and the culture for our society

-         support the English as this is great England, a Christian land with a monarch. Therefore the people who want to live here should become English and then be able to vote and benefit within our society

-         support the individual as they can take their own decisions

-    defend the right of free-speech

-         devolve decision-making more to the local community

-         improve education as this improves the quality of our society and our ability to survive in the modern world; support ability level teaching and learning; teaching in English as this is the cusp of our society; 3Rs+2;

-         promote improved health and health services

-         improve the position of pensioners and the aged

-         ensure that green taxes are in tax balance and look at further ways of encouraging reduced use of energy

-         re-establish common law as the basis for citizens rights to replace the imposed human rights laws

-         reduce red tape

-         promote the use of the English language throughout the world

-     raise family tax allowances, particularly if looking after an aged relative,

-         restructure the tax laws to encourage direct support for English arts and charities

-     restructure the tax laws to encourage more growth and success

-         improve the country’s infrastructure for power, telecoms, water, transport,

-         support our armed forces in order to maintain our independence

I expect that with fifty Independent MPs we can hold the balance of power and can therefore effect most of the changes our voters need and want. If we're to stop the conservatives getting a landslide victory we may need 150 MPs.

I will be using modern electronic polling software to assess voters views as we go along.
