8th August. Well it's been a battle this year. Cold wet soil when we wanted to sow and plant; very poor germination; then down in the south we went into a drought. It hasn't rained for two or more months, Yes we had a odd spots or two but nothing to write home about.

Now cropping leeks, beetroot, swede, red cabbage, potatoes, Not happy with the Quinoa or the Amaranth so I've ordered four fruit trees. This plot is simple, 2 beds onions, 2 beds potatoes, 1 bed broad beans, 2 beds pole beans, 4 beds of squashes, 1 bed brassicas and half beds each of leeks, beetroot and swede. more »

The beauty of a gluten free diet. The really good news is that we can throw away all the foods which are bad for us chips, cakes, biscuits, bread, burger buns, hot dogs, (half of our) chocolates, sandwiches, beer, lager etc. We never have to eat them again. We (nearly) always get better meals than everyone else. more »

Cyprus is a lovely island. We've just had blue skies every day from 1st October onwards.
More than that the traditional Cypriot food includes gluten-free. Kleftiko (beef), Offelia, (pork), Dolmades: Grape-leaves stuffed with rice, onions and sometimes ground beef. more »
